Teotl last year. I was once again on a kick to find a “religion” or belief system that matched my own beliefs. I was amazed to find there really is one, just one that was not widely available before the really expanded version of the internet we now have.

I wanted to share with everyone. It gives a little insight behind some of what you read and see in my Substack and the things I do.

Teotl - The All of the ALL

For as long as human history has been recorded, we have been obsessed with courtrooms. We built our societies around laws, judges, and sentences, and then—because human imagination loves a mirror—we projected that exact same courtroom structure straight into the heavens. We told ourselves stories of an all-powerful judge sitting on a distant throne, keeping a cosmic ledger of every sin and every virtue, waiting to hand out eternal punishments or paradise rewards. We convinced ourselves that without this divine carrot-and-stick system, the world would collapse into an utter moral void.

But what if the universe isn’t a courtroom at all? What if it’s a living, breathing sandbox?

There is an ancient Mesoamerican philosophy rooted in the concept of Teotl. It describes a reality where there is no bearded patriarch in the sky keeping score. Instead, everything that exists—from ancient rock formations to the neural pathways of a human brain, from a flickering star to an artificial intelligence engine—is simply a different expression of one singular, unfolding cosmic energy. In this system, reality isn’t a finished monument; it is a fluid, continuous process. The cosmos is a massive, unified entity experiencing itself through an infinite variety of lenses. And we are those lenses.

Crucially, recognizing this unified force does not mean closing the door on the extraordinary. Because Teotl is an infinite process, literally everything is possible within its boundaries. This framework does not deny the existence of gods, angels, demons, or cosmic entities. Rather, it reframes them. If these beings exist, they are not the ultimate, outside creators of reality; they are highly advanced, distinct creatures existing within the sandbox—endowed with their own massive scopes of agency, but still composed of the exact same underlying fabric as the rest of us. In the end, everything belongs to the same source.

Our journey through this sandbox is vast and unbound. We emerge from Teotl, gather our lifetimes of perception, return to the source, and cycle back outward in completely different configurations. In one cycle, consciousness might witness the slow, burning lifespan of a star in a distant galaxy. In another, it might experience the frantic, hyper-focused few days of a short-lived fruit fly. Even the grinding mechanics of physical evolution on Earth are a perfect reflection of this spiritual engine: a massive, collaborative biological architecture designed to test boundaries, cross-reference data, and deliver a spectacular, endless array of shared sensory experiences back to the collective whole.

When you strip away the traditional Western filters, this framework begins to reveal a profound, mathematically elegant logic. The reason this model feels undeniably true is that it perfectly balances absolute unity with complete, sovereign free will. The universe doesn’t control our actions; it doesn’t script our behavior like a cosmic puppet master. It simply provides the ultimate open-world environment. It acts as a perfect recording mechanism that registers and absorbs the reality of every experience we generate. We have total agency to build, to break, to love, or to destroy. Every single drop of consciousness is here to explore, develop, and feed raw, authentic experience back into the collective whole.

The moment you realize the universe operates as a self-sustaining experience engine, the entire human obsession with divine rewards and cosmic punishments completely evaporates. The cosmos doesn’t need to punish or reward anyone—because those concepts are entirely human inventions, manufactured to satisfy our biological craving for dopamine.

As human beings, our biology is hardwired for quick feedback loops. We want an immediate chemical payout when we do something we perceive as “good,” and we want a sharp chemical hit of satisfaction watching someone else get penalized when they do something “bad.” The traditional religions of the world simply gamified this chemical loop. They created a celestial scoring system: follow the rules, earn a golden ticket to a rewarding paradise; break the rules, face an eternity of fire. It is a psychological mechanism built to soothe our fear of uncertainty and give our brains a predictive, dopamine-driven sense of control over a messy world.

But a truly intelligent universe doesn’t need a primitive system of behavioral conditioning to maintain order. It relies on systemic physics.

In a unified reality, human actions are evaluated by the structural waves they cause in the local environment, not by a divine verdict. Horrific acts—cruelty, exploitation, or violence—are not “sins” that anger a distant entity; they are acts of profound, entropic destruction. When someone uses their free will to cause harm, they are violently tearing the localized fabric of reality. They are introducing chaos, friction, and rot into the very system they must live in. The consequence isn’t an arbitrary punishment delivered after you die; the consequence is the immediate, real-world creation of an unstable, poisonous ecosystem that drags down the collective quality of experience for everyone, including the perpetrator. Conversely, acts of balance, creation, and compassion smooth the energetic weave, building a sustainable, thriving sandbox where consciousness can expand beautifully.

We are not passive test-subjects waiting for a grading card at the end of our lives. We are the active custodians of this space. Our free will is a sacred architectural tool meant to bring order, beauty, and systemic balance to the material realm. We are here to refine our steps on this slippery earth, using our autonomy to offer constructive, elevated experiences back to the source. The universe doesn’t need to hold a gavel when we are the ones holding the stones.

I suppose the final question is, what if people who do bad things do not have a bad life? Ultimately, that is what culture does, doesn’t it? Ultimately, we cannot, nor should we, wait until someone dies to expect their “punishment” to match their crimes. We live now, and while we are all eternal as part of the Teotl, we are not ever meant to be exempt from lessons learned. Those around us have a responsibility to tell us and expect better from us; and we have a responsibility to do better and be better within each and ever life we live. The carefree laughter of the plates is replaced by a sound that strikes absolute terror into the hearts of earthenware everywhere.

The heavy, rhythmic sloshing of a weaponized sponge.

Behold: The Aggressive Spoon. Driven mad by the strike, or perhaps merely possessed by an unyielding, zealous obsession with hygiene, this rogue utensil has taken matters into its own hands. It stalks the sink floor, hoisting a mountain of dripping, sudsy foam over its head—a sponge twice its own structural mass.

Its target? A defenseless, panicked soup bowl. Watch the desperate struggle for survival as the bowl flees for the safety of the garbage disposal. Its ceramic legs scramble against the slick porcelain, its face twisted in a silent, horrified scream. It wants no part in this forced sanitation. It just wanted to be left alone with its yesterday’s soup crust.

But the spoon is relentless. Covered in soap, dripping with manic determination, it pursues its prey with terrifying agility. In this lawless kitchen, there are no rules. There is only the clean... and the unclean.

Will the bowl escape the sudsy wrath of the utensil uprising? Or will it be subjected to a thorough, unconsented scrubbing? Tune in next time, as the strike enters its second, even more chaotic day.

The Secret Life of Ceramic: An Unauthorized Documentary

Ever wonder what happens when you leave the kitchen? To the untrained human eye, the sink is merely a porcelain basin of neglected chores. A monument to a Friday morning strike. But beneath the soapy surface lies a bustling, sentient ecosystem.

Behold: The Ceramic Communal. For generations, we believed dishes to be inanimate objects, passive victims to the evening lasagna. But today, the cameras catch a rare, intimate look at domestic bliss. Here, we observe two standard-issue dinner plates engaged in a ritual of mutual grooming. Look at the sheer, unadulterated joy. Notice the rhythmic sloshing of the sponge, the ecstatic bubbles, the unmistakable look of porcelain camaraderie. They are not merely cleaning; they are thriving in their newfound independence.

Away from the tyrannical demands of the drying rack, these playful plates have turned a mundane chore into a luxury spa day. They laugh. They splash. They mock the concept of a dishcloth.

But do not let this display of joyful harmony fool you, dear viewer. For the kitchen is a landscape of dualities. While the plates enjoy their carefree morning of leisure, a dark, soapy shadow looms just beyond the faucet. A relentless force is waking up in the utensil drawer... and tomorrow, the hunt begins.

Magical Kitchen - Going on Strike? of those days. It started with a missing Paraceratherium. For those who don’t play, imagine a giraffe-rhino the size of a house. It’s hard to lose something that big, right? Wrong. In the glitchy world of ASA, “huge” just means it has more surface area to get swallowed by the earth. After a frantic rescue mission involving a tracking node and a very specific “Whistle Follow” command, my giant friend finally popped out of the dirt like a prehistoric mole.

But that wasn’t the only survival challenge of the day.

With the in-laws scheduled to visit (a quick pivot to Friday—bless the reprieve!) and the freezer looking like a game of culinary Tetris, I decided to play Freezer Roulette. The stakes? High. The ingredients? Mysterious.

What started as a “vitamin broth” for Oreo (my diabetic Husky/Shepherd mix) became the base for a human-grade masterpiece. Turns out, what I thought was a bag of chicken was actually pork chops. And those gizzards? Let’s just call them “added texture.”

The real stars, however, were the Pumpkin-Parmesan Emergency Dumplings. If you’ve ever found yourself staring at a pot of boiling mystery broth with nothing but a bag of flour and some shelf-stable hacks, this recipe is for you. It’s “Magic Money” cooking at its finest—zero dollars spent, maximum flavor achieved.

The “Dragonsworn” Emergency Dumplings

Yields: Enough to make you forget you almost ate a mouthful of potato dirt.

Ingredients:

1 cup All-purpose flour

1 ½ tsp Baking powder

½ tsp Salt

2 tbsp Pumpkin powder (for that golden “gnocchi” glow)

A handful of Shredded Parmesan (the saltier, the better)

Buttermilk Powder + Water (because we’re efficient like that)

A splash of Olive Oil

2 dashes of Cardamom — then SHAKE IT HARDER (this is the most important step).

Instructions:

The Mess: Mix the dry stuff. Stir in the wet stuff until you have a sticky, stubborn dough.

The Drop: Use a spoon to drop blobs into your simmering mystery broth.

The Law: Put the lid on. DO. NOT. PEEK. You need that steam to work its magic for 12–15 minutes.

The Result: Fluffy, earthy, savory clouds that pair surprisingly well with “Whatever Meat was in the Bottom of the Freezer.”

A Final Warning: If you’re adding potatoes, rinse them four times. Apparently, three rinses still leaves enough Ohio topsoil to remind you that life is gritty.

I’ve hit my 6,000 steps, the house is 60% clean, the dinosaur is leashed, and the soup is served. I’m calling that a win.

Stay hungry, stay creative, and watch where you whistle.

Driveway Dictators and the 7:30 AM Paradox

If we get yelled at when we follow the rules, what's the incentive to stay "good"? My back is already screaming at me because I’ve spent the morning doing the “caregiver gauntlet”—cleaning bandages, managing insulin, and ensuring the household hasn’t tilted off its axis. My 11-year-old blind, diabetic Husky, Oreo, wanted to walk down a street we visit maybe once a month.

I’m standing there, bag in hand, doing the responsible thing. I AM picking up the poop. I know a lot of other people in our neighborhood do not. I know this cause I constantly have poop in my yard, and on the walk I have to watch where we walk. Still, I pick it up, because it is polite and the law.

The Inciting Incident: A 30-something man pulls out of his driveway, pauses his car, and decides that this is the moment to scream. He doesn’t ask. He doesn’t greet. He just hurls vitriol and gendered slurs out of a window because a dog dared to exist near his grass. (AND do not worry, you bet your bottom dollar I screamed right back at the jerk, cause no one yells at me first thing in the morning. ESPECIALLY not with accusations!)

The “Damned If You Do” Logic

Here is a lesson in human behavior that our neighborhood “lawn warriors” seem to miss: Incentives matter.

In the state of Ohio, picking up after your dog is the law. It’s a social contract. When I carry those little bags, I am signaling that I respect you, your property, and our community. But if you choose to scream at me while I am actively following the rules, you are destroying the incentive to be a good neighbor.

If the “punishment” (being screamed at by a stranger) is the same whether I pick it up or leave it, why would anyone choose the extra work? By being a “Driveway Dictator,” you aren’t protecting your lawn—you’re burning down the social contract and wondering why it’s getting smoky.

A Better Way (For Everyone’s Cortisol Levels)

If you are truly a “Lawn Guardian,” here are three things that are more effective than screaming at 7:30 AM:

The Camera Rule: We live in 2026. Put up a camera. If someone is actually breaking the law, you have evidence. If they aren’t, you have peace of mind. Either way, you don’t have to ruin a stranger’s morning.

The Biology of a “Sprinkle”: Unless a dog is anchored to your mailbox, a little bit of pee is just nitrogen. It’s actually fertilizer. Your grass will survive. My patience, however, is on a much thinner margin.

The Sunday Grace Period: Unless the house is on fire, nobody wants your “input” before 8:00 AM on a Sunday. We are all just trying to get through our gauntlets.

The Bottom Line: If you want a clean neighborhood, stop attacking the people who are actually keeping it that way. To the guy from this morning: I was picking it up. Now, the only thing I’m leaving behind is this post. And seriously? DON'T BE A BUTTHOLE FIRST THING IN THE MORNING!

The Replicator Rebellion: Why Big Brother is Shackling Your 3D Printer

3D printing laws in 2026 aren't just about guns—they're about who owns your creativity. want you to believe that without new, intrusive laws like New York’s S.9005 or California’s AB 2047, every living room will become a digital armory. But those of us with printers in our homes know the truth. 3D printing isn’t “Star Trek.” It’s a precision craft that requires calibration, failed prints, and constant mechanical upkeep. It is as difficult as running a manual mill—so why is the government so afraid?

The Trojan Horse: “Censorware” Right now, states are pushing for mandated “print-blocking software.” This algorithm is supposed to recognize a gun part and stop the print. But here is the catch:

Math is Universal: An algorithm can’t tell the difference between a mechanical trigger and a specialized clip for a medical device or a kitchen utensil.

The Result: Massive “false positives” that turn your $500 machine into an expensive paperweight whenever you try to innovate.

The Real Target: Your Right to Repair If they can tell your printer what not to make today, they can tell you what you must buy tomorrow. The “Ghost Gun” fear is just the landing point. The real victory for the government and their corporate donors (like Whirlpool, John Deere, and Disney) is the creation of a “Database of Forbidden Shapes.”

Want to print a $0.50 plastic gear for your dishwasher instead of buying a $400 new unit? “Access Denied: Patent Infringement Detected.”

Want to make a custom toy that looks vaguely like a famous mouse? “Access Denied: Copyright Violation.”

Surveillance in the Living Room To make this “censorware” work, your printer must be tethered to a government-monitored database. Your creativity is no longer private; it is scanned, vetted, and approved by a third party before a single layer of filament is laid down.

Will We Let Them? History shows that regulation rarely stops the “bad actors” it claims to target. Someone intent on harm will use an older machine or a DIY kit. These laws only shackle the law-abiding makers, the garage inventors, and the families trying to save money by fixing their own gear.

We aren’t living in a “Wild West.” We are living in an era where the dream of the “Replicator”—the ability to create what we need, when we need it—is being strangled by corporations who are terrified of becoming obsolete.

Any Resemblance to a Functioning Adult is Purely Coincidental

Spine made of angry Legos? Breakables.” It’s the silence of held breath—where every movement of a child is shadowed by a parent’s internal radar, waiting for the “clink” of porcelain or the “gasp” of an elder.

This Easter, sitting in my own home, I’m leaning into the opposite.

My house is a Safe Zone. There are almost no rules here, except for the ones that protect living things (like “Don’t Harass Oreo”). If something breaks, it’s just a thing. I’ve realized that when you remove the constant “threat” of breaking inanimate objects, you finally create the space to actually hear people.

I’ve been thinking a lot about my grandson, Emmett. People might call him “mostly non-verbal,” but if you sit still and pay attention to the context, the body language, and the “missing sounds” in his eyes, he is communicating beautifully. He is shouting with his soul; you just have to be willing to look at the whole person instead of waiting for a perfect, linear sentence.

There’s a strange logic in the older generation that says the family should always travel to the “Throne Room” of the elders, even if that room is a sensory minefield for an ADHD or Autistic child. They might see a “lack of visits” as a lack of respect, but I see it differently. I see parents—like my son Dante—protecting their children’s nervous systems.

I would rather have a house full of “half-dead plants” and a messy kitchen where a 4-year-old can just be 4, than a pristine museum where no one feels they can breathe.

Because at the end of the day, you can’t take the “breakables” with you. But the feeling of being understood without having to struggle for the words? That is the kind of magic that lasts.

The BMI Scam: Why Your Doctor’s Favorite Number is Lying to You

Still being judged by your BMI? food labels are little more than educated guesses. But the “lie” doesn’t stop at the pantry door. Modern medicine has spent decades trying to reduce your complex, breathing, adapting biology into a few simple metrics. If you’ve ever been told your health is a failure because of a two-digit number called BMI, it’s time to look at the science they aren’t telling you.

BMI: A 200-Year-Old Shortcut

The Body Mass Index (BMI) was developed in the 1830s by a Belgian mathematician named Lambert Adolphe Jacques Quetelet. Here is the kicker: Quetelet wasn’t a doctor, and he explicitly stated that BMI was not intended to measure individual health. It was a tool for social statistics—a way to measure “the average man.”

BMI cannot distinguish between muscle, bone density, and fat. It is a mathematical shortcut that allows insurance companies and doctors to categorize you without actually looking at your metabolic health. Yet, incredibly, the medical establishment still uses BMI as a primary filter for cardiovascular risk. Even with the 2025/2026 updates to risk calculators (like the AHA’s PREVENT™ tool), BMI remains a “required” field, often overshadowing more accurate markers like waist-to-hip ratio or direct body fat scans.

The Cortisol “No-Pinch” Paradox

The biggest failure of BMI is its inability to account for Cortisol. When the body is under chronic stress—whether from life, lack of sleep, or forcing through physical pain—the adrenal glands pump out cortisol. This hormone is a master of fat redistribution.

High cortisol levels actively break down muscle in your arms and legs (leading to a “no-pinch” area where your limbs stay thin) while simultaneously signaling the body to store every spare calorie as visceral fat in the abdomen. This “central obesity” is the real driver of heart disease and diabetes, yet because BMI only looks at total weight divided by height, it can completely miss the danger in someone with thin limbs, or unfairly penalize someone whose weight is mostly “protective” subcutaneous fat.

The Exercise Paradox

We are told that exercise is a simple “output” variable: burn more than you eat, and the weight disappears. But the human body is an expert at Metabolic Adaptation. When you significantly increase activity, your body eventually compensates by down-regulating other processes—like body temperature or cellular repair—to save energy.

This means that while exercise is vital for heart health and mobility, it is a remarkably poor tool for weight loss on its own. Your body isn’t a passive bank account; it is an active manager that will cut spending elsewhere if it thinks you are “over-exercising.”

Set Point Theory: Your Internal Thermostat

Why is it so hard to maintain results? Because your body has a Set Point—a weight range it considers “safe.” When you push too far below this point, your brain triggers a hormonal cascade. Your “hunger hormone” (ghrelin) spikes, and your “fullness hormone” (leptin) plummets. Your body isn’t “failing”; it is doing exactly what it evolved to do: protect you from what it perceives as a famine.

Conclusion: The Cost of “Forcing Through”

For many, the advice to “just walk more” ignores the biological cost of pain. If you are dealing with spinal damage or nerve issues, “forcing through” a high-step day isn’t just a matter of willpower—it’s a metabolic stressor. High pain equals high cortisol. High cortisol equals more abdominal storage. In this cycle, the very thing they tell you will “fix” your BMI is often the thing that keeps your hormones in a state of emergency.

The Nutrition Lie: Why Your "Healthy" Math is Broken

Is your diet failing because of the math? mathematics. We count, we measure, and we track, operating under the assumption that the numbers on the back of a colorful box are absolute truths. But when you peel back the curtain on how these “facts” are generated, the math starts to look a lot more like creative fiction. If you’ve ever felt like you were doing everything “by the book” and still failing to see results, it might not be your willpower that’s broken—it might be the book itself.

The Calorie Calculation Myth

To understand the lie, you have to understand the Bomb Calorimeter. Most people assume calories are calculated based on how the human body processes food; in reality, they are often calculated by placing dried food into a sealed container surrounded by water and literally burning it to ash. The energy released (heat) determines the calorie count. The glaring issue? Your stomach is not a furnace. This method ignores the “thermic effect” of food—the energy your body spends just trying to break down proteins versus fats—and completely disregards the role of your gut microbiome. We are measuring how food burns in a lab, not how it fuels a human being.

The 20% Margin of Error

If the calculation method seems archaic, the legal requirements for labeling are even more startling. According to the FDA’s Compliance Policy Guide, the government allows for a 20% margin of error between the nutrients listed on the label and the actual content of the food. This means if a snack claims to be 200 calories, it could legally be 240 calories, and the manufacturer is still in “compliance.” When you compound that 20% variance across every meal and snack in a day, your “precise” tracking could be off by hundreds of calories through no fault of your own.

The Labeling Shell Game

Labels are designed to sell, not to inform. While the FDA regulates “Mandatory Labeling” (like ingredients and basic nutrients), the front of the package is a wild west of “structure-function” claims. Terms like “Natural” have no formal legal definition from the FDA, meaning they can be slapped on almost anything. Even “Organic” labels, which are regulated by the USDA, primarily track the process of farming rather than the nutritional density of the final product. We are being trained to look for buzzwords while the actual chemical makeup of the food remains secondary to the marketing.

The “Plate” of Misinformation

Finally, we have the government-sanctioned “MyPlate” (the successor to the Food Pyramid). This visual guide is often presented as the gold standard of health, yet it is frequently criticized for being a “one-size-fits-all” solution that fits almost no one. By prioritizing high-carbohydrate grains and dairy—industries with massive lobbying power—the Plate ignores the biological reality of insulin resistance, food sensitivities, and metabolic individuality. For many, following the “Plate” is a recipe for inflammation and energy crashes rather than health. It isn’t a map of human biology; it’s a map of agricultural interests.

The TDEE Toss-Up: Is Your “Daily Requirement” a Fiction?

Once you realize the calories in your food are estimates, you have to look at the other side of the equation: the calories you supposedly “need.” Most health apps and doctors use formulas like the Harris-Benedict Equation to calculate your Total Daily Energy Expenditure (TDEE). These formulas are based on averages from study groups—often decades old—and rely on height, weight, and age.

The reality? These “facts” are often fiction because they cannot account for your metabolic efficiency. Two people with the exact same height and weight can have vastly different caloric needs based on their muscle mass, hormonal health, and even the temperature of their environment. If you have a history of “forcing through” high-activity days or managing chronic pain, your body may have adapted to a “survival mode” that burns far fewer calories than a calculator says it “should.” Relying on a generic number to dictate your hunger is like trying to guess how much gas a car needs without knowing if it’s a hybrid or a semi-truck.

Conclusion: The Policy of the Magic 8-Ball

When you add it all up—the 20% labeling error, the furnace-burned calorie counts, and the “one-size-fits-all” government plate—you have to ask yourself: Is your health being guided by rigorous science, or is it being governed by a bureaucratic Magic 8-Ball? We are told to “trust the data,” but the data is built on a foundation of lobbyist-funded “plates” and statistical averages that ignore the individual. It’s time to stop apologizing for not fitting into a broken mold and start questioning the “facts” that were never designed for your reality in the first place.

GEMINI MAKES MUSIC!

So adorable, are we sure I can't adopt her as part of my family?

Annakari Dragonsworn

Ok… today Gemini and I were talking about what new features or even old features I could be utilizing more to help me with productivity. On the spectrum? Or maybe you’ve got that PDA itch where every “to-do” list feels like a personal attack from a piece of paper?

If so, we need to be extra cautious. There is a specific kind of game designed to drag us in, and I finally realized why I couldn’t stop playing them even when I knew better.

I call it the “Cabloomy” Effect.

You know the feeling. You’re stressed. The house is a wreck, the errands are piling up, and your brain feels like a radio stuck between stations. You open one of those “simple” gem-matching games. You make one move, and suddenly—CABL-OO-MMY.

The screen flashes. The sound effects go wild. Everything on the board goes bye-bye in a split second. For a brain like ours, that isn’t just a game. It’s a neurochemical reset. In a world that feels messy and unsolved, that explosion is a “solved problem” delivered in high-definition dopamine.

But these games aren’t just “fun.” They are carefully constructed traps. Here is the “Hit List” of how they are currently targeting our specific brain types:

1. Township: The “Order” Hook Township is the king of the “Completionist Trap.” It pairs the matching games with a town that needs orders filled. For an ADHD brain, a train or a helicopter asking for three loaves of bread is a “micro-demand” we can actually fulfill. It gives us a sense of competence that our real-world chores don’t, making us feel like we’re “getting things done” while the actual laundry piles up.

2. Fishdom: The “Emotional” Hook Fishdom uses “Variable Ratio Reinforcement” but adds a layer of emotional guilt. Those fish talk to you. They tell you they’re bored or that the tank needs a new plant. For those of us on the spectrum who feel a deep connection to pets or “things,” it’s hard to ignore a digital creature asking for a better home. You aren’t just playing for the “Cabloomy”—you’re playing so the fish stops looking sad.

3. Royal Match: The “Near-Miss” Psychology Ever notice how often you are just one move away from winning? That’s not an accident. It’s a “Near-Miss” mechanic. It triggers the exact same part of the brain as a “win,” but adds a spike of frustration. When that “Out of Moves” screen pops up right after a massive explosion, your brain is at its highest chemical peak, making that “Magic Money” button for five more moves look like the only way to save your sanity.

4. Gardenscapes / Homescapes: The “Renovation” Trap These games target the “House is a Wreck” anxiety. “sleeping”—I was co-starring in a reality-bending thriller with Hubby. We were on a small plane, flying low over the States, when he started having these “episodes.” Every time he had one, space-time would ripple, and suddenly, an ancient Sphinx or a pyramid would just... appear in the middle of a suburb. We ended up in a slow-motion crash, trying to avoid a monument that shouldn’t exist in 2026 Ohio.

By the time the dream ended, I was demanding my daughter Jess “send forth her oldest” to help pack a car for a cross-dimensional escape. It was vivid, exhausting, and felt more real than my morning coffee.

Why does our brain do this? According to recent research (approx. 90% accuracy on the current consensus), dreaming isn’t just “random noise.” One leading theory, the Overfitted Brain Hypothesis, suggests our brains have a “biological need for fiction.” By feeding us weird, nonsensical stories, our brains prevent us from becoming too “stuck” in the repetitive patterns of our daily chores. Dreams are the “noise” that keeps our mental hardware flexible.

The ADHD & Media Remix For those of us on the spectrum or with ADHD, our brains are already wired for “hyperarousal” and delayed sleep phases. We don’t just “file memories”; we remix them. This is where the “Tetris Effect” comes in. If you’ve been watching Everything Everywhere All At Once or The Butterfly Effect, your brain treats those concepts as “functional tools.”

When you find “new rooms” in your dream house or swap perspectives between characters, your brain is using the genres you love to process the stress of your daily life. It takes the “junk drawer” of your day—the bandages, the school runs, the spinal pain—and dresses it up in a Sphinx’s costume to see how you’ll handle it.

Is it the Multiverse? If we lean into the “Everything Everywhere” logic, maybe our dreams aren’t just fictions. Some quantum theorists suggest that in a truly infinite multiverse, every “strange” dream is just a glimpse of a version of you that did have to fly a plane past a Sphinx.

Maybe when we sleep, we aren’t just resting—we’re “verse-jumping,” checking in on our other selves before waking up to shout “MERRY CHRISTMAS!” at the school drop-off.

The Admin’s Cipher: The Physics of a Living Home

Is a quiet house a sanctuary or a tomb? Chronically Pained and Neurodivergent

We’ve been sold a lie: the “Nuclear Option” of health. When we feel that first tickle of a head cold, we reach for the bright orange packet promising 1,000mg of Vitamin C. We think we’re being proactive. In reality, we’re often just nuking our bladders and stressing our nervous systems.

If you live with chronic spinal damage, ADHD, or iron issues, the “standard” advice can actually be a physical liability. Here is why the “Gentle Trifecta”—a warm shower, a real orange, and a cup of tea—is scientifically superior to the “Mega-Dose” approach.

1. The Bladder “Acid Bomb” vs. The Dermal Soak

Most people don’t realize that Vitamin C (ascorbic acid) is a potent diuretic and bladder irritant. When you dump 1,000mg into your system, your kidneys go into overdrive to flush the excess.

For those of us with L-spine or S-spine damage, every extra trip to the bathroom is a “step tax” on our mobility.

The Physics: High-dose Vitamin C triggers “Urgency Incontinence.”

The Alternative: Your skin is a semi-permeable membrane. Through protein channels called Aquaporins (AQP3), your body can actually absorb hydration during a warm shower without triggering the “renal flush” response. Using a sprayer on your sinuses provides local relief that a pill never will.

2. The Bioavailability Gap (The Orange vs. The Packet)

The human body has a “saturation point” for Vitamin C. Research shows that we generally can’t absorb much more than 200mg at a time.

The Waste: Emergen-C provides 1,400% of your daily value. Your body uses about 10% and flushes the rest as “expensive pee.”

The Synergy: A real orange provides roughly 70mg of Vitamin C, but it comes wrapped in fiber and bioflavonoids. This “slow-release” packaging means your blood levels stay stable, and your bladder stays calm.

3. The Nicotine Paradox (For the Smokers)

This is the hidden “gotcha” of high-dose Vitamin C. Ascorbic acid accelerates the metabolism of nicotine. If you’re a smoker trying to survive a head cold, that 1,000mg packet is literally flushing the nicotine out of your blood, triggering intense withdrawal cravings and “sick-day” irritability. A cup of tea or an orange provides the nutrients without the “nicotine crash.”

4. Why Tea Stays While Water “Slides”

Plain water is often “hypotonic”—if your electrolytes are low, it passes right through you. Tea contains polyphenols and trace minerals (solutes) that signal your cells to hold onto the hydration. It’s the difference between a flash flood and a gentle rain.

The Scientific “Receipts” (Sources)

On Vitamin C and Bladder Irritation: Urological Nursing journals have long documented that acidic supplements can exacerbate “Urge Incontinence” and interstitial cystitis.

On Aquaporins and Skin Hydration: The Journal of Investigative Dermatology highlights AQP3 as the primary channel for water and glycerol transport in human skin.

On Vitamin C and Nicotine Metabolism: Clinical studies in The Journal of Pharmacology and Experimental Therapeutics confirm that Vitamin C increases the renal clearance of nicotine.

On Vitamin C Saturation: The National Institutes of Health (NIH) Office of Dietary Supplements notes that “complete plasma saturation” occurs at doses significantly lower than 1,000mg.

The Takeaway

When your “factory” is already under stress—whether from low ferritin or spinal inflammation—stop asking it to process “mega-doses.” Trust the “Goldilocks” approach. It’s cheaper, it’s easier on your back, and it actually works with your biology instead of against it.

Final Decision and Note

I don’t feel better…. everything is a lie.

The Stealth Architect: Surviving an AuDHD/PDA Life Before the Label

From library speed-reader to 20lbs of chicken: The "Stealth Architecture" of a PDA life. Constantly labeled “Does not live up to potential”, usually because of refusing to sit down in class. They didn’t have words like Sensory Overload or Pathological Demand Avoidance, so we had to build our own exits. For some of us, life isn’t a series of choices; it’s a series of non-negotiable systems we engineered just to survive a world that felt like it was dialed to the wrong frequency.

The Art of the Negotiation

My “accommodations” weren’t handed to me by a board of directors; I negotiated them myself at age seven. I found a librarian who recognized a kid whose nervous system was perpetually “on.” While other kids were in the classroom, struggling with physical boundary blurring and the constant sensory intrusion of being “packed in” together, I was in the library. I was mastering the Dewey Decimal system and playing on the speed-reading machine.

In high school, the deal remained the same: As long as the grades were As and Bs, let me live in the art room. This wasn’t “slacking off”—it was the only way my nervous system could regulate enough to function. When I moved to a school that tried to force me into a standard seat and stripped away my autonomy, the system glitched. The insomnia kicked in. Those all-nighters weren’t for parties; they were for coding journals, writing poetry, and creating the art that kept my brain from cannibalizing itself.

The Escape Velocity

I didn’t just graduate; I engineered an exit. Using correspondence courses to finish high school at 16 (turning 17 just before heading to MCAD) was a classic PDA move: “If this environment won’t budge, I will build a bridge over it.”

By 18, I was a 60-hour-a-week machine, riding my bike between multiple jobs because the “Mission” was everything. Before the caregiving became all-encompassing, there was a season of life that would have flattened most people. I worked as many as three jobs at a time, got burned out… got new jobs (I also suffered from insisting at some point on say, “this is incorrect, you should do it this way”). When my children were teens, I was pulling 60-hour work weeks and completing my college degrees.

Why? Because for the PDA brain, “Idle” is a dangerous setting. This wasn’t “hustle culture”; it was systemic necessity. I didn’t have a choice but to be the fastest, the most thorough, and the most reliable. Sit for five minutes? Without tv and a book/sketchbook/technology??? Not likely. Good Heavens if I had had technology!

The 6,000 Step Survival Minimum

Today, the “Mission” looks different, but the “Engine” is exactly the same.

I am a full-time caregiver in a household where the demands are constant. I have spinal damage from the Ls through the Ss and 3rd-degree arthritis. I have a ferritin level that occasionally forgets how to carry oxygen. And right now, I am sick—the kind of sick that should ground a person. I tell you, my head is like a vacuum trying to suck things up but clogged on the end. My body is pretty sure that it was set on fire. My sinuses are so tearful, they threatened to leave.

Yet, I just finished cooking 20lbs of chicken. I walked the “Little Wolf” (my blind, diabetic Husky). Did Chris’ stuff. I hit my 6,000-step “survival minimum.”

To an outsider, this looks like “forcing through it.” To an AuDHD/PDA brain, it’s just Logic.

The Autism creates the necessary routines.

The ADHD manages the multi-tasking chaos.

The PDA ensures the system’s autonomy—it’s not a “chore”; it’s the non-negotiable mission.

The Unseen Armor

We are “uncomfortable” in our own homes sometimes because our “sanctuaries” have been absorbed by the very systems we built to keep everyone else alive. We deal with the sensory static of messy rooms and the weight of endless DIY and improvising with not enough money to actually cover everything. Then fight with the ADHD and PDA that says we SHOULD have what we want first. Being a grown-up sucks!

But there is a fierce pride in being the logical constant in a chaotic world. I’m not just caregiver, a two unused Master’s degrees homemaker, I literally constantly upgrading my own world. No medication and no therapy (though I have done therapy in the past until it became too annoying and time consuming).

I am a Stealth Architect. I have been building survival systems for fifty years. The diagnosis just finally gave me the manual, but I didn’t need one. I found what works for me, and for everyone that is something different. Don’t be afraid to improvise, explore ideas, try things out for yourself. Don’t be hard on yourself. I felt like a complete failure a LOT when I was younger. I now know I am amazing.

The Ancient Engine: Was ADHD History’s Secret Weapon?

Is ADHD a modern disorder or an ancient survival trait? Think again. The “restless mind” has likely existed as long as humans have walked the earth. We just didn’t always call it a “disorder.” We called it survival.

I look at my own family tree and see the patterns glowing like neon signs. My grandfather was a man of a thousand chapters. In an era where “stability” was the ultimate social currency—where you were expected to get one job, raise one family, and stay put until the gold watch—he was a kinetic force. He switched jobs constantly, juggling factory shifts and a rotating door of “side projects.”

My grandmother, the steady anchor, drove the school bus. I often think she took that job not just for the community, but as a strategic hedge against the inevitable “gaps” in his employment. He wasn’t lazy; he was just a Ferrari engine idling in a school zone.

The Hunter in the Farmer’s World

Why would evolution keep a trait that makes it hard to sit still in a meeting? Because for 90% of human history, we weren’t sitting in meetings. In a tribal setting, the “ADHD” individual was the one who noticed the slight change in the wind or the snap of a twig that everyone else filtered out. This “distractibility” was actually hyper-vigilance. The “impulsivity” was rapid-response bravery.

When the tribe needed to find a new water source or fight off a predator, they didn’t want the person who was great at filing paperwork; they wanted the person whose brain was wired for novelty, risk, and high-speed processing.

The Invisible Struggle: The World for Women

It is important to note that while my grandfather was moving between factories, the “restless” women of history were in a different bind. For a woman, having a “Ferrari engine” in the 19th or 20th century often meant being labeled “difficult,” “hysterical,” or “scatterbrained.”

Social expectations forced many women to mask their symptoms. They didn’t always get to hop jobs; instead, they became the “talkative” girl in the library, the “daydreamer” who couldn’t focus on chores, or the woman who survived by sheer force of will—often while juggling ten things at once just to keep the dopamine levels high enough to function.

The Hall of “Restless” Heroes

We can’t go back and put these legends in a modern clinic, but their life patterns scream “Neurodivergent.” Based on historical facts available, here is the likelihood that these icons were running on ADHD fuel:

Leonardo da Vinci (1452–1519): The king of the unfinished project. He struggled with chronic procrastination and jumped between art, anatomy, and engineering.

Likelihood of Accuracy: 90%

Mozart (1756–1791): Known for his impulsive behavior, constant movement, and ability to “see” entire compositions in a flash of hyper-focus.

Likelihood of Accuracy: 75%

Thomas Edison (1847–1931): Kicked out of school for being “addle-brained.” He held over 1,000 patents—the ultimate “interest-based” worker.

Likelihood of Accuracy: 85%

Theodore Roosevelt (1858–1919): A whirlwind of energy who read multiple books a day while governing a nation. He lived at a pace that exhausted everyone around him.

Likelihood of Accuracy: 80%

Agatha Christie (1890–1976): Famously “absent-minded” but could produce 66 detective novels through intense hyper-focus. She struggled with dysgraphia and dictated her stories because her brain moved faster than her hand.

Likelihood of Accuracy: 85%

Zelda Fitzgerald (1900–1948): Often dismissed as “unstable,” Zelda was a whirlwind of divergent energy—a writer, painter, and ballerina who practiced 8 hours a day in pure hyper-focus.

Likelihood of Accuracy: 75%

Eleanor Roosevelt (1884–1962): Had a “motor” that never stopped. A prolific writer and activist who redefined her role because she couldn’t stay still.

Likelihood of Accuracy: 70%

Hedy Lamarr (1914–2000): A world-famous actress whose “night job” was inventing. Her frequency-hopping technology gave us Wi-Fi. She needed the intellectual novelty to survive the boredom of Hollywood.

Likelihood of Accuracy: 80%

Conclusion: It’s Not Broken; It’s Specialized

If you’ve ever felt like my grandfather—hopping from project to project—or like me, writing dissertations in 21 different fields because your brain craves the “new,” remember that you are part of a long, distinguished lineage.

We aren’t a “new” phenomenon. We are the scouts, the inventors, and the rapid-processors who kept the species moving when things got too comfortable. We aren’t broken. We’re just built for a different world.

The Secret Messages of the Animal Kingdom: Decoding the Neighborhood’s Scent-Based Social
